Company Profile

A HP Solutions Alliance Partner, Baker Street Software was founded in January, 1989. We specialize in software solutions for NSK/Tandem Computer systems, with a specialty in data security.

In 1990, at the International Users' Group Conference in Las Vegas, we introduced our first product, a software package which produces Safeguard audit reports.

Baker Street Software's next product, powerful Tandem/Safeguard graphical interface software, SafePoint Admin, was first released in July, 1994. The latest version is SafePoint Admin. With about sixteen person-years of programming effort, we have been able to utilize state-of-the-art technology to bring Safeguard into the 21st century: a graphical user interface for Safeguard, utilizing parallel processing to provide simultaneous access to Safeguard on all nodes on an NSK network. SafePoint Admin provides powerful features to assist with both security administration and implementation. We designed this product simply by listening to what actual Safeguard users wanted, a practice we continue today. This software is in use today at many companies all over the world.

In October 1998 we released SafePoint Reports, a ground-breaking product which provides a variety of security and audit reports for the NSK operating system. The latest version is SafePoint Reports, which once again breaks new ground in the area of Safeguard reporting software.

SafePoint Reports combines Baker Street Software's expertise in Tandem security, graphical user interfaces, and the Safeguard security environment to provide a powerful reporting package which reduces Safeguard audit records into human-readable form. Audit data from multiple NSK systems may be merged automatically. Reports may be scheduled using the SafePoint report scheduler, or an NSK scheduler of your choice, like NetBatch.

SafePoint Reports is more than just an audit report facility. SafePoint's AutoFTP^™ technology provides user snapshot, alias snapshot, ACL snapshot, user access, OSS File Security snapshot, and audit reports to be written locally to your PC as Microsoft Excel or HTML documents. Reports may be generated to the NSK Spooler or to NSK disk files, as well. SafePoint Reports also provides an NSK Virus Check Facility.

Baker Street Software also provides consulting services, including writing custom NSK and Windows software, performing NSK security analysis and audits, and designing and implementing NSK security implementations. Our consulting clients have included Tandem, Wells Fargo Bank, Citicorp, Apple Computer, Pacific Bell, and other large corporations.

At Baker Street Software, we often tell our customers that "we really know Safeguard." We are not just another software house with another security product; we have spent more than a decade implementing real security solutions on-site at very large corporations where data security is serious business. We've spent thousands of hours in the trenches, learning and analyzing and working with intricate features of the NSK/Safeguard security environment, organizing and piecing together security implementations for clients who really weren't always sure exactly what a security implementation was.

So when we say "we really know Safeguard", we feel we've earned the right to say it.
